Support SUSL in the TelfairLife Charity of Your Choice Walk on Sat., April 10th

Shape Up Sugar Land (SUSL) was recently selected along with other non-profits to participate in the 2010 TelfairLife Charity of Your Choice Walk.  The event will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Telfair, Sugar Land’s newest master-planned community.

This is an opportunity for you to take steps to positively impact Fort Bend County by walking for the charity of your choice around the Lake in Telfair and encouraging others to join you.  Walkers can also help their charity win up to $20,000 in the Walker, Team, and Charity Challenges.

SUSL has a goal of registering at least 10 walkers ($30 registration fee, and you don't even have to be present).  SUSL also has a goal of raising $1000 or more in donations.  100% of walker registration fees are donated to the charity of your choice, and we hope you will choose SUSL as the non-profit that you want to support.

The Schedule for Saturday, April 10, 2010 (rain or shine)

8 A.M. - Check-In at the Telfair Central Lawn.  Breakfast is provided.  Participants have the option to either run or walk the course and must indicate their preference when registering.

8:30 A.M. - Welcome & Warm-Up with Sugar Land City Councilwoman Jacquie Chaumette.

9 A.M. - Walk Begins.

10:30 A.M. - Post Walk Party at Telfair Central Lawn.  Enjoy fun games, activities and music. Challenge winners will be announced at the Post-Walk Party.

Shape Up Sugar Land is a dynamic organization committed to promoting wellness, raising awareness and encouraging activities that enable healthier lifestyles for the community.  SUSL supports and provides all of the citizens in Fort Bend County, Texas with the resources to make healthy lifestyle choices.  In addition, SUSL will soon be collaborating with the City of Sugar Land to implement a grant already won from the State of Texas for the Mayor's Fitness Council.  As part of the grant, SUSL and the City will identify and develop plans and assessments for health, fitness and wellness for the community.
